Hola🌮! Thanks for visiting, I am a Senior Developer from Canada working in MLOps and Data Science. I've been involved in Calgary's growing tech startup scene since 2016, and have had the opportunity to practice ML/DS in diverse projects such as sports wearables, human resources, and logistics/supply chain. Previous to my life in code, I worked in diverse roles from Project Manager in international development to CEO of a production&design studio in South America. I am motivated by challenging environments, steep learning curves, and building collaboratively with driven teams.

The purpose of this blog is to document a few lessons learned, improve my writing skills and to challenge myself to create. The plan is to post mostly web/data related content but some random meanderings may find its way in there for fun.

MLOps :: I've developed components and services for the full life-cycle of the ML Pipeline, including ground-zero data collection, preprocessing, EDA/visualisation, feature engineering, model training, tuning and deployment. I've setup in-house services to support ML research such as datalakes and experiment tracking servers, and have deployed inference endpoints using multiple AWS services. In 2021 I completed the ML Specialty Certification from AWS.

DataSci :: I've produced tooling to extract, clean, align and analyse high frequency inertial and positional data and created custom video tools to correlate and label data for ML processing. I've used a wide range of statistical and analytical techniques to interpret and predict meaning from time-series data. I've worked with LSTMs for activity recognintion, conventional models and DNNs for Demand Forecasting, and several other ML use cases.

FrontEnd :: I'm a proponent of the JamStack - generally, I opt for light frameworks and libraries, headless CMS, serverless functions/DBs and git-based CI/CD workflows.

This site is built with 11ty, a pretty wicked static site generator, content is handled with Forestry a headless CMS, and it all gets automatically deployed from Github with Vercel.
